Description
A good desk mat is one of those small upgrades you notice every day. It softens the clatter of a mechanical keyboard, gives your mouse a consistent surface, keeps a cold desk from chilling your wrists in a Toronto January, and protects the desk from scratches and mug rings.
The Texcovery Felt Desk Mat is 80 × 30 cm, large enough for a full-size keyboard and a mouse with room to spare. The top layer is 3 mm of dense wool-blend felt in charcoal grey, which feels warmer and more substantial than synthetic cloth mats. Underneath, a 2 mm layer of natural cork stops the mat from sliding around without any adhesive, so it won’t leave residue when you move it.
The edges are cut cleanly rather than stitched, so there’s no raised seam under your wrists. Our only branding is a small embroidered tag sewn into the bottom-right corner: you’ll know where it came from, but your video-call backdrop won’t look like an ad.
Felt is naturally a little fuzzy when new. A few passes with a lint roller during the first week will tidy it up. Optical and laser mice track well on the surface; very high-sensitivity gaming mice may need a small DPI adjustment.

Care
- Remove lint and crumbs with a lint roller or a soft brush.
- Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth; spot clean with cold water and a little mild soap, then air dry flat.
- Do not machine wash, tumble dry or iron.
- If it arrives curled from the tube, lay it flat with a few books on the ends for a day.
